Gay Country Rank: 29/193

Cape Town Gay Pride 2017: Cape Town Pride twirled its way into town for the 13th consecutive year from Friday, 19 to Sunday, 28 February 2016 to celebrate cultural diversity and to raise awareness for LGBTQI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex) issues in South Africa and across the continent. Each time around, calendar highlights include a fantastic selection of parties, parades and protests scattered across the nine-day period. But while the line-up may be both vast and varied, one thing remains constant: each event encourages both LGBQTI folks and their straight allies to partake in the fun.
