The annual commemoration of the Stonewall uprising on the anniversary of June 28, 1969 — a gathering at and around the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street that combines remembrance with celebration. In Pride week, when the March ends at Christopher Street, the Stonewall becomes the final destination of two million people. The bar itself runs a full-night event with DJs, speeches, and the particular atmosphere of being in exactly the right place on the most historically significant night of the year.
