The Dinah Shore Weekend, also known as "The Dinah " is a popular and well known annual event that takes place in Palm Springs, California. It has gained a reputation as the most prominent festival focused on lesbian and queer women worldwide. Mariah Hanson founded this event in 1991 under the Club Skirts brand. Initially it started as a golf tournament catering to the lgbtq+Q+ community. Has since grown into an extravagant five day celebration featuring pool parties live music performances, comedy shows, appearances by celebrities and a variety of recreational activities.
Traditionally The Dinah occurs in March or early April to coincide with the ANA Inspiration (formerly known as the Kraft Nabisco Championship) which is a significant womens golf tournament held in Rancho Mirage, California. The festival deliberately aligns with this tournament to cater to the number of lesbian golf enthusiasts who visit the area to watch these matches.
