The Hôtel Negresco is the most recognisable building on the Nice skyline after the Promenade des Anglais itself — a belle époque palace with its trademark pink dome and white façade that has defined the Côte d'Azur since 1913. The hotel is a museum as much as a place to stay: 600 original artworks including pieces by Niki de Saint Phalle and Roy Lichtenstein fill the corridors and public rooms. Each of the 96 rooms and suites is individually decorated in a different historical period. The Negresco has long been considered gay-friendly by LGBTQ+ travel guides — the staff are professional and discreet in the best French grand-hotel tradition, and the hotel's legendary status means it attracts a cosmopolitan, open-minded clientele. The Chantecler restaurant holds a Michelin star. Rooms from approximately €350/night; suites from €700.
