Uproar Lounge is Shaw's gay neighbourhood bar and the home of one of Washington DC's most beloved weekly traditions: the Sunday Beer Bust, running from 4 to 8 PM with $3 draft beers and a packed house of DC's bear community and their friends. The bar's casual, unpretentious character is the antidote to the polished cocktail bars of Dupont Circle — low lighting, good music, a friendly crowd, and pricing that reflects the bar's community-first ethos. Beyond Sundays, Uproar hosts regular themed nights and is a consistent gathering place for the bear and leather-adjacent communities of the DC area.
