Miami Beach Pride is the principal LGBTQ+ Pride event in South Florida — an annual festival and parade held each April along Ocean Drive and Lummus Park in South Beach, drawing approximately 130,000 people over its multi-day run. The festival occupies Lummus Park — the strip of parkland between Ocean Drive and the beach — with multiple performance stages, food and drink vendors, merchandise, and community organisations. The parade runs along Ocean Drive on the final day, passing the art deco architecture of the Historic District with the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop: one of the most visually spectacular parade routes of any Pride event in the world. Miami Beach Pride draws a specifically South Florida crowd: the Latin LGBTQ+ community is prominently and centrally represented, reflecting Miami's demographics, and the event has a bilingual character that distinguishes it from many North American Pride events. The combination of April weather — warm but not yet the summer heat — the beach location, and the concentrated energy of South Beach's hospitality infrastructure make this one of the most enjoyable Pride events in the United States. Accommodation books out months in advance; many visitors use Fort Lauderdale or the Miami airport area as a base.
