Their world brought together punk\\, feminism\\ , queer sexuality\\, activism\\, nightlife and alternative culture.\\nRat her than presenting queer history as something distant or polished\\, Reb el Dykes explores it through the people who were there. As a result\\, th e film offers a lively look at a radical lesbian community that challenge d both mainstream society and expectations within feminist movements.\\nP unk\\, Feminism and Lesbian History\\nQueer history has never been one si ngle story. Instead\\, it has been shaped by countless communities\\, mov ements\\, conflicts and experiments in living differently.\\nRebel Dykes focuses on one particularly rebellious part of that history.\\nThe docume ntary explores how lesbian communities created their own spaces and cultu res during a politically turbulent period. At the same time\\, it looks a t sex\\, friendship\\, art\\, protest and the politics of refusing to fit neatly into established categories.\\nTherefore\\, the film is not simpl y a history lesson.
