SUMMARY:Writing Spirals: Multicultural Contemplations on Beginnings\\, En
 dings\\, and Cycles
DESCRIPTION:The spiral holds great meaning for cultures all over the worl
d and has captivated our attention throughout ancient and modern time. Wh
ether of metaphysical and philosophical significance\\, or the many scien
tific and biological iterations of this powerful symbol\\, the multi-face
ted spiral will be our muse. \\nIn this 3-part generative writing worksho
p\\, we’ll expand our writing across multiple genres including poetry\\
, essay\\, and narrative with prompts inspired by multicultural authors.
 Thematically\\, we’ll move through Irish-Celtic mysticism\\, spiraling
seasons of emergence\\, Afro-futurist science fiction\\, and our personal
place within the great spiral. We’ll engage impactful elements of styl
e and craft from our mentor texts like punctuation\\, dialogue\\, and sym
bol to enhance writing of resonance. Some time will be devoted to giving
and receiving feedback as well as sharing in a supportive space. Writers
of all levels and backgrounds are welcome.\\nCourse Outcomes\\nWriters wi
