SUMMARY:WRITING ANIMALS
DESCRIPTION:Writing animals in fiction is a complex\\, rewarding and reju
venating process. From &#8220\\;Animal Farm&#8221\\; to &#8220\\;Mink Riv
er&#8221\\;\\, several authors have gravitated to the form to deepen empa
thy in the reader and establish an immersive fictional world. In this six
week class\\, students will work on several in-class writing prompts to
develop both writing and research skills to render an animal presence pre
cisely on the page. \\nStudents will receive a detailed booklist with res
ources and students can plan to complete 8-10 pages of a fictional story
draft before the end of the class. An individual office hours meeting wit
h the instructor is also included in the class description. Ideal class f
or beginning and advanced writers alike. \\nAccess Program\\nWe want our
writing classes and seminars to be accessible to everyone\\, regardless o
f income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can pre
sent obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class a
nd seminar tuitions at a reduced rate. Most writing classes have at least
one access spot available.\\nPlease apply here for access rate tuition.
