DESCRIPTION:This event will be a launch party for DiscoTeka Magazine\\, a
  self-published magazine celebrating and highlighting queer women of colo
 r in the underground music industry and their contributions toward the mu
 sic scene — creating spaces where self-expression feels safe\\, accessi
 ble\\, and welcoming. This event will be a showcase of the magazine\\, wi
 th the magazine available for purchase and viewing for the first time. Th
 e event will also include a DJ set by local Latina DJs\\, spaces for danc
 ing and mingling and showcases of local Latinx photographers\\, designers
  and creatives.\\nAbout the artist\\nAline Chercover (AKA Barrio Girlz) i
 s a Portland-based multi-media artist\\, graphic designer\\, and illustra
 tor\\, whose work is driven by culture and centers on identity and femini
 nity. Their practice spans illustration\\, editorial design\\, and self-d
 irected publishing\\, including my independently produced magazine and ye
 ars of work released under my brand\\, Barrio Girlz. Their work aims to d
 ocument and uplift often-overlooked voices\\, while building spaces where
  representation feels unapologetic and real.\\nRevista DiscoTeka: fiesta 
 de lanzamiento por Barrio Girlz\\nSobre el evento\\nEste evento será la 
 fiesta de lanzamiento de *DiscoTeka Magazine*\\, una publicación indepen
 diente que celebra y destaca a las mujeres *queer* de color en la industr
 ia de la música *underground* y sus aportes a la escena musical\\, y que
  crea espacios donde la autoexpresión se vive de manera segura\\, accesi
