ws1Kg9g\\nThis Month&#8217\\;s book is Oh! You Pretty Things by Jane Hadl
ey\\nSummary:\\nBy the time imaginative Arthur Ohashi starts his junior y
ear at the University of Minnesota in 1970\\, he&#8217\\;s made an art of
forging conventionality into armor. That is\\, until Eve Clark turns his
careful world upside down. Beautiful and enigmatic\\, Eve pours her cons
iderable charisma into fronting a local rock band called The Tarts &#8211
\\; and she wants Arthur to play keys for them. As he is absorbed into th
e band\\, their parties\\, and their giddy world of subversive rock &#821
6\\;n&#8217\\; roll\\, Arthur is increasingly drawn to the Tart&#8217\\;s
guitarist\\, James Novak\\, whose appreciation for underground records a
nd androgyny unlocks long-suppressed desires in him.\\nAs Eve and James s
trip Arthur&#8217\\;s armor away (and replace it with lush red lipstick)\
\, he embarks on a path of self-discovery entirely outside his expectatio
n or experience\\, tapping into a well of bombshell energy he never knew
he had. But when Arthur finds himself caught in the middle of Eve and Jam
es&#8217\\; complicated relationship\\, he realizes that he can&#8217\\;t
continue to contort himself to fit into other people&#8217\\;s expectati
ons. Not if the cost is himself.\\nGrounded in local LGBTQIA history\\, O
h You Pretty Things is a story of self-actualization\\, love\\, and rock
&#8216\\;n&#8217\\; roll. Fans of the Velvet Underground\\, Ziggy Stardus
t\\, and T.Rex will find themselves at home in the rich soundtrack of thi
 s novel set to music.\\nIdentities/Themes/Tropes: Historical\\, drag\\, m
