There are no genre\\, styl e\\, or form requirements\\, but please keep your set to under five minut es to allow everyone to have a turn!\\nThis month’\\;s featured poet s will be students of Samuel’\\;s Ace’\\;s writing class\\, hos ted in celebration of Splendor: Trans Poets.\\nIn celebration of the coll ection Splendor: Trans Poets\\, poet Samuel Ace is hosting a writing work shop at Charis for trans &\\; genderqueer writers. The students in thi s class will be the featured readers for September’\\;s open mic and will each share one poem. Learn more about Splendor below:\\nIntroducing readers to five trans and nonbinary poets Splendor is an ode to queer bo dies\\, with previously unpublished translations from Argentina\\, Denmar k\\, Korea\\, Norway\\, and Quebec. From the irreverent and irresponsible to the quiet and meditative these poems decentralize our ideas of trans experience and poetics.\\nSplendor presents a sliver of the wide possibil ities of what trans literature can offer. This is trans literature that t ranscends borders and binaries in order to engaging with a messy world.
