SUMMARY:Get Weird With Wrestling &#8211\\; Qspace workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Spectacular Body: A Weekly Exploration of Queer Wrestling
and Camp Performance\\nWelcome to a weekly laboratory in Warehouse9’s
Qspace\\, where we explore the wrestling ring as a site of radical theatr
icality. When we step into the arena of hyper-expressive movement\\, the
body becomes a canvas for our wildest imaginations. Inspired by the rich
history of camp performance\\, melodrama\\, and physical comedy\\, this w
orkshop invites you to discover and create spectacular alter-egos—perso
nas that open up new spaces for collective joy\\, intimacy\\, and communi
 ty play.\\n&nbsp\\;\\nPRACTICAL INFORMATION\\n Time: Thursdays\\, 18:30
 20:30 (please arrive 10 minutes early)\\n Meeting point: Warehouse9\\, R
 osenlunds Allé 5 (Baghuset)\\, 2720 Vanløse\\n Who can join?: Open to a
ll bodies\\, fitness levels\\, and identities. No prior wrestling or acti
ng experience is required. Strictly 18+ \\n Language: English (or Danish
/English depending on the group).\\n What to bring: Please wear comfortab
le clothing that you can easily move in\\, a water bottle\\, and a clean
pair of indoor shoes (trainers/sneakers) to protect the floor.\\nHow to j
oin: Sign up via the button at the top of the page\\n&nbsp\\;\\nThroughou
t the weekly sessions\\, we will:\\n&nbsp\\;\\n Master the art of gravity
and the spectacular fall: Falling is not just a necessity\\; it is a gra
nd narrative gesture. We will break down the physical techniques of the &
#8220\\;bump\\,&#8221\\; learning how to distribute impact safely across
the body\\, land with confidence\\, and transform a sudden drop into a mo
ment of breathtaking theatrical suspense.\\n&nbsp\\;\\n Embody the mechan
ics of physical illusion: We will practice safe\\, foundational stage com
bat and wrestling movements. You will learn the geometry of the ring\\, h
ow to share weight safely with a partner\\, and how to execute stylized\\
, high-energy movements with total control and bodily awareness.\\n&nbsp\
\;\\n Master the sensory language of &#8220\\;the sell&#8221\\;: How does
a body communicate impact through pure theater? We will dissect the timi
ng\\, rhythm\\, and exaggerated gestures needed to make a fictional colli
sion look hilariously high-stakes\\, turning a simple reaction into a gra
nd narrative moment.\\n&nbsp\\;\\n Draw inspiration from archetypes and s
torylines: From the tragic\\, over-the-top heroes of classic soap operas
to the chaotic brilliance of comedic wildcards\\, we will learn how to bu
ild fictional backstories and larger-than-life personas.\\n&nbsp\\;\\n Ex
 plore materials\\, gestures\\, and sensations: How can a sequin\\, a dram
atic pause\\, a grand entrance\\, or an exaggerated gasp become a sanctua
ry for expression? Participants are encouraged to build\\, discover\\, an
d experiment with physical presence and creative costuming.\\n&nbsp\\;\\n
Take part in vocal and character exercises: We will pause to play with t
he microphone\\, practicing the art of theatrical trash-talking and crowd
work rooted entirely in comedy\\, imagination\\, and playful energy.\\n&
nbsp\\;\\nThese sessions are an open invitation to see physical performan
ce with new eyes. Come as you are\\, and together we can create vibrant\\
, joyful pauses within our everyday realities.\\n&nbsp\\;\\nABOUT THE FAC
 ILITATORS\\n&nbsp\\;\\nKFWS works with sensory\\, physical\\, and partici
patory performance unfolding within queer community spaces. Their practic
e explores how temporary characters and spectacular narratives emerge thr
ough encounters between chaos\\, imagination\\, and the body. Drawing ins
piration from theatrical wrestling\\, camp aesthetics\\, and collaborativ
e play\\, they create situations where people and movement collectively r
eimagine performance anew—allowing relational and fluid identities spac
e to evolve.\\nA central point of departure in this work is a care for co
llective joy and creative freedom—using the ring not as a site of ego\\
, but as an aesthetic foundation for laughter and community. \\nQuestion
s? For more info you can write wrestling.scenekunst@gmail.com.\\nAccess I
nformation\\nWarehouse9 has level free entrance to the space and a gender

h a safer space policy and ask that you orientate yourself upon entry to
