SUMMARY:Watch Your Art Come Alive
DESCRIPTION:Ever wanted to watch your artwork magically appear before you
r eyes? In this hands-on workshop\\, you&#8217\\;ll discover the alchemy
of ferrous solution mark-making\\, an enchanting textile technique where
patterns and lines dramatically darken and reveal themselves right on the
cloth as the iron reacts with natural tannins. You&#8217\\;ll leave with
two stunning 28&#8243\\; x 28&#8243\\; cotton pieces created entirely by
hand\\, using a mix of printing techniques and freehand painting on spec
ially tannin-prepared 100% cotton cloth. Whether you lean toward bold gra
phic patterns or flowing organic lines\\, this process rewards every crea
tive instinct. \\nDawne Hoeg\\, Founder and Executive Director\\, holds
an MFA in Textile Design/Fiber from the University of Massachusetts-Dartm
outh. Prior to founding Stitch Buffalo in 2014\\, she taught in the Texti
le and Fiber Arts Design Department at Buffalo State University and serve
d as the handwork teacher at the Aurora Waldorf School. As the founder an
d Executive Director of Stitch Buffalo\\, she has guided the organization
from its start as a weekly embroidery class\\, held in borrowed communit
y rooms\\, to its current form as a comprehensive textile arts center. Al
ong the way\\, she has provided pathways to success for hundreds of refug
ee women artisans and established a vibrant community of diverse voluntee
 rs\\, students\\, and artists.\\nhttps://www.gayout.com/usa-canada/united
