SUMMARY:Frank Lloyd Wright&#8217\\;s Fontana Boathouse Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a tour of the only rowing boathouse designed by F
rank Lloyd Wright! Originally designed by Wright in 1905 for the Universi
ty of Wisconsin\\, the Boathouse was never built until its construction i
n 2007 in Buffalo along the shore of the Black Rock Channel. This was one
of Wright&#8217\\;s favorite designs\\, as evidenced by his inclusion of
the Boathouse in his now-famous Wasmuth Portfolio.\\nToday the boathouse
is being used for its original purpose as an active rowing facility\\, p
roviding a unique opportunity to see one of Wright&#8217\\;s designs bein
g used as originally intended. On the tour\\, you&#8217\\;ll learn about
why it was never constructed in Wisconsin\\, and how it came to be built
in Buffalo.\\nThe tour includes both the exterior and interior of the Boa
thouse\\, providing an in-depth look at a masterpiece of Prairie Style de
sign. While on the tour\\, enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Erie\\, th
e Niagara River\\, and the Canadian shore from the Boathouse &#8211\\; be
sure to bring your camera!\\nMeet at the Boathouse at 1 Rotary Row\\, Bu
ffalo\\, NY 14201. Take Porter Avenue west\\, and immediately after cross
ing the I-190 expressway and off-ramp\\, turn right at the Fontana Boatho
