, it was the biggest selling book of the year. It has since gone on to b

Octavia Butler\\, one of the true trailblazers of Science Fiction writing
. The book shows how Butler was truly influenced by and was a mirror to t
he world around her\\, as well as quite the future teller. From the Civil
Rights Movement to Reaganomics to queer and gender studies\\, Butler's t
ales of facism\\, gender violence\\, climate chaos and relationships have
influenced writers of every genre. Truly ahead of her time and timeless
