DESCRIPTION:Do&#x9a\\;o:wëh is the name for Buffalo in the language of t
 he Onödowa&#8217\\;ga:&#8217\\; or Seneca people\\, who have called We
 stern New York home for generations &#8211\\; long before the arrival of 
 Europeans. This new walking tour explores the longstanding and ongoing pr
 esence of Indigenous Peoples in Buffalo\\, with attention to the historie
 s\\, contributions\\, and enduring legacies of the Haudenosaunee througho
 ut the region. \\nTopics include the role of the Haudenosaunee in region
 al history\\, their involvement in major conflicts such as the Revolutio
 nary War and the War of 1812\\, influential leaders including Red Jacket\
 \, and the lasting impact of the Senecas on the land\\, culture\\, and ci
 vic life of Buffalo and Western New York.\\nWe are indebted to Melissa Pa
 rker Leonard for her guidance in developing this tour. Melissa is the fou
 nder of 7th Gen Cultural Resources and an educator\\, researcher\\, and
  advocate committed to preserving and sharing the history and heritage of
  Indigenous Peoples\\, particularly the Senecas\\, whose stories are at t
 he heart of this tour. \\nThis tour meets in the lobby of 40 Fountain Pl
 aza near Prova. Enter the building through the revolving doors and immed
 iately turn right to meet at the long table in the lobby. 40 Fountain Pl
 aza and Prova are adjacent to the Rotary Rink reflecting pool. Fountain P
 laza is located on Main Street between Huron and Chippewa Streets. Metere
 d street parking is available along Main Street and other nearby streets.
  The closest parking ramp is the Augspurger Ramp at Huron and Pearl Stree
 ts. The Fountain Plaza Metro Rail station is on Main Street outside Fount
 ain Plaza. This tour is approximately one hour 45 minutes in length and 1
 .3 miles of walking. \\n \\nTour Procedures &amp\\; Policies: \\nReser
 vations are required for all tours\\, including for Explorer Pass members
 . Walk-ups without reservations cannot be accommodated. Tours are genera
 lly limited to a maximum of 18 people per group. \\nReservations close t
 wo hours before the tour&#8217\\;s scheduled start time (for example\\, 
 reservations close at 8am for a 10am tour). \\nTo redeem an orange Explo
