 ords of George Bernard Shaw\\, “We don’t stop playing because we grow
  old\\, we grow old because we stop playing.”\\nResearch has shown for 
 years that games can support cognitive health in older adults. Games can 
 enhance the brain’s processing speed and memory skills. Guess what? The
 y’re also fun and a great way to socialize with folks you might not kno
 w so well … yet.\\nIf you share a laugh with others\\, you all feel hap
 pier\\, more positive\\, and more relaxed. Humor gets you out of your hea
 d and away from your troubles. Even if you grew up in a household where l
 aughter was not a common sound\\, you can learn to laugh at any stage of 
 life.\\nIt’s fun to have a good laugh\\, but did you know it can actual
 ly improve your health? It’s true: Laughter is strong medicine.\\nWilli
 am Fry\\, MD\\, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University Medical School\
 \, has devoted 50 years to laughter research. He explains\\, “from a ph
 ysical standpoint we know that laughter conditions the heart muscle\\, ex
 ercises the lungs and diaphragm\\, works all the abdominal and thoracic m
 uscles\\, boosts the immune system and even increases adrenaline and bloo
 d flow to the brain.”\\nThe Senior Pride Health and Wellbeing committee
  invites you to join us&nbsp\\;now on the second Tuesday of each month&nb
 sp\\;for a time of fun\\, challenge\\, and friendship. Bring you own favo
 rite game or play one of the many we will have available.\\nWe’re meeti
 ng in the Community Room of the Habitat for Humanity offices at 3501 N. M
 ountain. Although recommended\\, masks are not required.\\nSee you there!
