 e and Cannonball Festival Fire Portal is a multi-media installation and p
 erformance that uses fire both as a destructive symbol and as a means of 
 manifestation. Through dynamic performance\\, imagery\\, sound\\, movemen
 t and of course projected flame\\, Red Rae grapples with the idea of burn
 ing down our current systems of power to collectively imagine what might 
 rise out of the ashes. There are so many systems of power\\; late stage c
 orporate capitalism\\, transphobia\\, white supremacy and patriarchy to n
 ame a few\\, that many people would like to see destroyed. Fire Portal wi
 ll draw on extensive research into fire as a tool of both resistance and 
 regeneration to create an audience experience that feels both like being 
 torn to pieces and built back up again. Life evolved hand in hand with fi
 re\\, holding that knowledge helps us to re-contextualize our relationshi
 p with destruction. The fire portal opens in the space as well as into Re
 d’s body\\, peeling back their skin to unveil fiery dreamscapes\\, reve
 aling that we all contain that which is necessary for our evolution and d
 estruction. This show is recommended for audience members ages 18+ as it
