SUMMARY:ŠIŠKA OPEN 2026 I Klara Perušek: Najemniška kletka
DESCRIPTION:Sobota\\, 19. 9.\\, 18.00 @ Trg prekomorskih brigad 1\\nŠIŠ
KA OPEN 2026 I Klara Perušek: Najemniška kletka\\nodprtje murala na adm
inistrativni stavbi Trg prekomorskih brigad 1 \\nCeloten ŠIŠKA OPEN pro
 gram: https://www.kinosiska.si/dogodek/siska-open-2026/\\nNa administrati
sko tematiko humorno potencira do absurda in jo vizualno ponazori s prizo
rom mlade družine\\, nagnetene v premajhen bivalni prostor – pasjo ut
tanovanjske problematike\\, avtorica v delo vpleta dodatne simbolne eleme
nte. Figure na poslikavi s svojo velikostjo namigujejo na posledice varč
ez hrane\\, kar dodatno poudari stisko in absurdnost situacije. Njegova p
osoda\\, v kateri sedaj spi dojenček\\, simbolizira vsakodnevne kompromi
digitalni ilustraciji. V svojem ustvarjanju pogosto naslavlja družbeno a
ktualne teme in jih interpretira skozi simboliko ter vizualno pripoved. P
ču vizualnih komunikacij\\, ulične umetnosti in slikarstva. \\nOrganiz
acija: Kino Šiška in Inštitut za urbana vprašanja (INURB).\\nHvala sp
onzorjema: HELIOS Slovenia in Riwal / Boels Slovenija. \\n____EN \\nŠIŠ
KA OPEN 2026 I Klara Perušek: The Rental Cage\\nunveiling of mural on th
e administrative building at Trg prekomorskih brigad 1 \\nA new mural tit
led The Rental Cage by artist Klara Perušek graces the administrative bu
ilding at Trg prekomorskih brigad 1\\, tackling one of currently most pre
ssing social topics – the housing crisis\\, which most severely impacts
young people and young families.\\nThe artist humorously amplifies this
partly autobiographical theme to the point of absurdity\\, visually depic
ting it through a scene of a young family crammed into an undersized livi
ng space – a dog kennel\\, symbolically shown as the only &#8220\\;home
&#8221\\; they can afford. The work illustrates the limited options on th
e property market and raises questions about housing accessibility\\, the
conditions for starting a family\\, and the wider social consequences of
the soaring cost of living.\\nTo illustrate the multifaceted nature of t
he housing crisis\\, the artist weaves additional symbolic elements into
the work. The size of the figures in the mural hints at the consequences
of budgeting and resorting to cheaper\\, lower-quality food\\, while simu
ltaneously drawing attention to one of the reasons behind declining birth
rates\\, as many young people delay starting or expanding a family due t
 o unfavourable living conditions.\\nA dog\\, the original &#8220\\;owner&
#8221\\; of the kennel\\, is also included in the scene\\; due to the lac
k of space\\, it has been left without its shelter and even its food\\, f
urther highlighting the distress and absurdity of the situation. Its bowl
\\, in which a baby now sleeps\\, symbolises the daily compromises and sa
crifices that the rising cost of living imposes on an increasing number o
f people\\, as a decent home becomes an ever more elusive ideal for many.
\\nThe conceptual design for the mural The Rental Cage was selected throu
gh Kino Šiška&#8217\\;s open call Cultural Euro 2025\\, aimed at suppor
ting young creators by (co-)funding visual art projects in the form of a
mural painting. A jury of five experts unanimously chose Klara Perušek&#
8217\\;s project from among nine valid applications.\\nKlara Perušek is
a kinesiologist by training\\, as well as a versatile creator\\, illustra
tor\\, and graphic designer whose life has been intertwined with art sinc
e childhood. Alongside murals\\, she takes on various artistic projects\\
, focusing primarily on digital illustration in recent times. In her crea
tive work\\, she frequently addresses current social issues\\, interpreti
ng them through symbolism and visual narrative. She was assisted by Nejc
Zorenč\\, an intermediate artist and painter who works at the intersecti
on of visual communications\\, street art\\, and painting\\, in the execu
tion of the mural at Trg prekomorskih brigad 1.\\nOrganisation: Kino Ši
ka and the Institute for Urban Questions (INURB).\\nSpecial thanks to ou
