SUMMARY:The Stampeders &#8211\\; One More Time
DESCRIPTION:THE STAMPEDERS &#8230\\;. One More Time\\n‘They&#8217\\;re
on their way\\, to the city lights’ &#8230\\; and\\, THE predominant Ca
nadian Rock ‘n’ Roll band of the 1970s – The Stampeders – are bri
nging along all their classic hits: Wild Eyes\\, Carry Me\\, Oh My Lady\\
, Devil You\\, Ramona\\, Minstrel Gypsy\\, Hit the Road Jack and\\, of co
urse\\, the quintessential Canadian – and Hall of Fame – song\\, Swee
t City Woman! A veritable soundtrack to a whole generation that will ‘c
arry you home’ &#8230\\; maybe not to Birmingham &#8230\\; but back to
 a time of tie-dyed t-shirts and elevator shoes\\, 15¢ coffee and homemad
e apple pie\\, dating and dreaming &#8230\\; By the time The Stampeders g
et to the first chorus of the first song\\, everyone will be singing alon
g.\\nNo seventies group represented Canada&#8217\\;s musical identity to
the world like The Stampeders. A quick look at Canada&#8217\\;s music sce
ne from 1971 until 1976 confirms The Stampeders were truly the country&#8
217\\;s international musical ambassadors\\, touring more extensively in
Canada and overseas than any other Canadian group during that time.  In
1977 the trio: Rich Dodson (lead guitar)\\, Kim Berly (drums) and Ronnie
King (bass) parted company but reunited\\, fittingly at the Calgary Stamp
ede\\, 15 years later in 1992. Since then they’ve been recognized by SO
CAN for their Lifetime Achievement\\, been inducted into the SOCAN Songwr
iters Hall of Fame on five occasions and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of
Fame for their 1971 seminal hit Sweet City Woman.\\nIn March 2024\\, jus
t before the Ontario leg of this tour\\, Ronnie King passed away.  Based
on his lifelong  &#8216\\;the show must go on&#8217\\; attitude\\, ther
e&#8217\\;s no question he would have wanted the band to continue.  Dave
Chobot\\, renowned bassist and long time friend of the band\\, who was
already scheduled to be on the tour to sit in for Ronnie as needed\\, wa
s the obvious choice.  Still\\, Ronnie  remains a presence at every sho
w\\, as Rich and Kim share stories from 50plus years on the road and pay
tribute with a retrospective video.\\nThe enduring musical legacy of The
Stampeders  &#8230\\; One More Time &#8230\\; &#8216\\;better catch a no
on train\\, better get there for a rock &#8216\\;n&#8217\\; rolling good
 time!\\nhttps://www.gayout.com/usa-canada/canada/ottawa/events/the-stampe
