Kingfisher’s What Moves the Dead.\\nThe novella is a reimagining of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story The Fall of the House of Usher. It follows retired soldier Al ex Easton\\, who travels to the ancestral home of their childhood friends \\, the Ushers.\\nHowever\\, something is deeply wrong at the estate. Str ange wildlife\\, mysterious fungal growth and an increasingly disturbing atmosphere suggest that the house is hiding much more than it first appea rs.\\nKingfisher combines gothic horror\\, body horror and dark humour in a short\\, atmospheric story. As a result\\, there is plenty to discuss\ \, from gender and identity to illness\\, nature\\, transformation and th e traditions of gothic fiction.\\nA Queer Space to Talk About Books\\nQue er Book Club is a space for LGBTQIA+ people and our wider community to ex plore literature together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.\\nYou d o not need an academic background or specialist knowledge to join the con versation.
