SUMMARY:MOPODYKE HOUSE PARTY
DESCRIPTION:There are little to no lesbian bars in Melbourne\\, or really
anywhere else in the world for that matter. Since the 80s\\, lesbian spa
ces have been disappearing with a vengeance. \\n \\nWhile this is partial
ly due to the fact that lesbian specific spaces aren’t as vital for pur
e survival anymore\\, it is still hard to watch and has left me (and many
others) feeling a little disconnected from community. \\n \\nIn the past
\\, one of the ways lesbians and queer people connected with each other w
hen commercial spaces were unavailable was by hosting and attending house
parties.\\n \\nI have a great space for house parties at my Moonee Ponds
sharehouse\\, so I want to offer it up for this very purpose. In other w
ords\\, I’m inviting all the lesbians (and anyone who fits under the FL
 INTA umbrella - https://www.equality-and-diversity.fau.eu/glossary/flinta
/) to join me for a lesbian house party. \\n \\nPlease invite all the les
bian and FLINTA people you know. Trans people are always welcome at my ho
me. The only people who are not welcome on this night are cis men and str
aight cis women \\n \\nNo TERFS. No SWERFS. Be respectful to others and t
o the space or you will be asked to leave. \\n \\nHouse rules\\n- Do not
go into taped off areas (bedrooms etc.)\\n- No driving under the influenc
e when you leave please\\n- This is NOT a sex on premises event\\n- Pleas
e party responsibly\\n- No ops (you know who you are)\\n- Plus 1's are we
lcome and encouraged!\\n- byo alcohol \\nAccessibility\\n- Limited street
parking available\\n- There are 16 steps to get to the upstairs area and
5 steps to get to the main part of the house.\\n- There is one toilet do
wnstairs (up the 5 steps) and two toilets in the upstairs area (up the 5
steps and the 16 steps). \\n- The house also has some narrow hallways\\,
including the hallway which leads to the downstairs bathroom. \\nMore det
 ails to come :))\\nhttps://www.gayout.com/asia-aus/australia/melbourne/ev
