SUMMARY:Over the Rainbow (OTR): Lunch & Learn with Manitoba Burrowing Owl
  Recovery Program
DESCRIPTION:The Manitoba Burrowing Owl Recovery Program (MBORP) is non-pr
ofit\\, on-the-ground conservation program addressing the ongoing decline
of endangered burrowing owls in southwestern Manitoba. The program is wo
rking towards recovery for the species through field and educational acti
vities like reintroduction\\, surveys and monitoring\\, habitat enhanceme
nt and education. MBORP is working to recover the species through reintro
ductions\\, surveys and monitoring of wild owls and nests and habitat imp
rovement through the installation of artificial nest burrows. Annually\\,
throughout the breeding season (May-August) MBORP works with select priv
ate landowners to reintroduce burrowing owl pairs and young. They also en
gage landowners (cattle farmers) in burrowing owl conservation through th
e installation of artificial nest burrow installations. On Friday\\, Octo
ber 23rd\\, we are thrilled to be joined by an MBORP educator and ambassa
dor\\, Bindi the Burrowing Owl! This Lunch and Learn will provide an oppo
rtunity to learn about these beautiful and endangered birds\\, the land w
e live on\\, and how we can all be a part of conservation and the protect
ion of Manitoba flora and fauna. Lunch will be provided for in-person att
endees while the presentation is underway.\\nhttps://www.gayout.com/usa-c
