SUMMARY:Queer Writers Read
DESCRIPTION:RSVP FOR THIS EVENT HERE\\nQueer Writers Read brings queer wr

ct initial “first encounters” with another person or community. How d
o writers stage these encounters? How do they establish stakes in the rel
ationship? How do they establish tension\\, suspense\\, attraction? Selec
tions for this workshop include scenes from: \\nJames Baldwin\\, Giovann
i’s Room (Fiction)\\nPatricia Highsmith\\, The Price of Salt (Fiction)
\\nAudre Lorde\\, Zami: A New Spelling of My Name (Memoir / “Biomythog
 raphy”)\\nDanez Smith\\, “The 17-year-old &amp\\; the Gay Bar” (Poe
