SUMMARY:Queer Theatre Makers
DESCRIPTION:Write\\, improvise\\, and create small theatrical scenes in t
his workshop exploring LGBTQ+ identities **Please note you will need to b
ook a ticket for this event on\\nEventbrite. If you're viewing this page
on the London LGBTQ+ Community\\nCentre website\\, scroll to the bottom t
o book.**\\nQueer Theatre Makers in a relaxed workshop focused on explori
ng LGBTQ+\\nidentites and individuals lived experiences.\\n****What to ex
pect****\\nThrough a mixture of free writing and devising exercises\\, pa
rticipants\\nwill be able to safely explore and collaborate with others t
o create\\nsmall scenes or theatrical ideas to do with their own identiti
es.\\nFree writing means writing from impulse\\, exploring what comes to
you\\nfreely through small prompts and ideas. (For example\\, the prompt
‘queer\\njoy’ would lead to 5 minutes of writing down anything that c
ame to mind\\nrelating to that prompt). This is an exercise to see what p
articipants\\nfeel in relation to certain topics or ideas without self fi
ltering or\\noverthinking\\, and is a great way to share the different in
terpretations\\nof the prompt with the group.\\nThere will also be small
group exercises\\, creating short theatrical\\nscenes/interactions based
on queer experiences or stories. \\nThe purpose of the group is to explo
re identity through performance and\\ncollaboration but also to show the
incredibly vast nature of the queer\\nexperience and each individual's re
lationship to it\\nThis workshop is open to anyone\\, regardless of theat
rical experience.\\nThe exercises are accessible for beginners and you ca
n opt out of\\nsharing your work with zero judgement or question! \\n***
