DESCRIPTION:Join us to volunteer with DC Central Kitchen\\, a close partn
er organization of the EDCJCC. DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is an iconic non
profit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job
training and job creation. The organization provides hands-on culinary jo
b training for individuals facing high barriers to employment while creat
ing living wage jobs and bringing nutritious\\, dignified food where it i
s most needed.\\nDCCK welcomes volunteers ages 12 and older\\, and volunt
eers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone. Teens ages 12
-18 are also invited to volunteer with the Youth Action Institute\\, whic
h is chaperoned by EDCJCC staff. \\nThere is limited space for this prog
ram and registration is required for participation. As DC Central Kitchen
relies on a specific number of volunteers to be able to produce the meal
s they need\\, we ask that you only register if you are committed to show
