SUMMARY:German Premier: Our Colors Never Fade
DESCRIPTION:Join us to attend the German Premier of the documentary film
***Our Colors Never Fade***.\\nSome of you may know Jim McSherry\\, one o
f our members. Over the last few years he has been traveling to Ukraine t
o talk to LGBTQIA+ soldiers\\, civilians\\, and families about their expe
riences serving on the front-line\\, and the changing attitudes to queer
people. He has directed and produced a documentary\\, which is now having
its German premier as part of the Berlin Freedom Week.\\nWhen Russia lau
nched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022\\, ordinary cit
izens chose to stay and defend their homeland. Among them are members of
the LGBTQIA+ community\\, who not only faced the dangers of war but also
the weight of prejudice and targeted persecution. *Our Colors Never Fade*
offers an intimate portrait of these soldiers and civilians through pers
onal reflections and frontline experiences. Their stories reveal courage\
\, sacrifice\\, and humanity in the midst of conflict\\, challenging ster
eotypes while illuminating a community fighting for both national freedom
and the right to exist.\\nI saw the documentary at a pre-screening\\, an
d I came away feeling both outrage at the terrible situation that has bee
n imposed on the Ukrainian people\\, and hope for both the country and me
mbers of the queer community there.\\nYou can reserve **free** tickets he
