SUMMARY:QUIG'S PRESENTS: Virginia Woolf's 'Orlando
DESCRIPTION:Advertisement\\nJoin us for a very special evening with the i
ncredible Professor Anna Snaith to discuss Virginia Woolf’s queer class
 ic!!!\\nAbout this Event\\nFirst masculine\\, then feminine\\, Orlando is
a young sixteenth-century nobleman who gallops through the centuries\\,
from Elizabethan England and imperial Turkey to Virginia Woolf’s own ti
me. Will he find happiness with the exotic Russian princess Sasha? Or is
the dashing explorer Shelmerdine the ideal man? And what form will Orland
 o take on the journey – a nobleman\\, traveller\\, writer? Man or . . .
woman?\\nWritten for the charismatic\\, bisexual writer Vita Sackville-W
est\\, Orlando is one of Woolf’s most popular and accessible novels\\,
a playful mock biography of a chameleon-like historical figure that is bo
th a wry commentary on gender and\\, in Woolf’s own words\\, a 'writerâ
€™s holiday' that delights in its ambiguity and capriciousness.\\nProfess
or Anna Snaith is one of the leading voices in Woolf scholarship and mode
rnist literature\\, and is a Professor of Twentieth-Century Literature at
  King's College London. She co-leads WoolfNotes\\, a pioneering project t
o digitze Woolf's research notebooks\\, and has edited and introduced sev
eral major scholarly editions of Woolf's work\\, including A Room of One'
s Own\\, Three Guineas and The Years. She is truly the expert on Woolf\\,
and I can't believe she is coming to Quig's!\\nTickets include complimen
tary drinks kindly provided by Jubel beers!!!\\nDoors open at 6.45pm for
a 7pm start. Please make sure to arrive with time to grab a drink and set
