SUMMARY:Queer Recipes Archive
DESCRIPTION:Advertisement\\nA workshop-performance exploring food\\, gend
er and sexuality through live cooking and rewriting traditional recipes.\
 \nAbout this Event\\nQueer Recipes Archive is a workshop-performance that
explores who defines the “traditional” version of a dish\\, and whos
e experiences its recipe leaves out. As a reimagined version is performed
and prepared live\\, we trace how its ingredients and techniques have ch
anged and acquired meaning through migration\\, labour\\, gender and powe
r.\\nTo queer a recipe is to question the instructions inherited from a r
ecipe\\, letting our own bodies and appetites change what the dish can be
come. Participants do this in a double-layered zine\\, rewriting the reci
pe through their own memories and desires. Each version can become part o
f a growing archive of stories told through food.\\nOpen to adults aged 1
8 and over\\, especially queer and trans folks\\, but anyone interested i
n the social and cultural dimensions of food and its possibilities for se
nsorial storytelling. No cooking or writing experience is needed. All mat
erials are provided\\, and participants take their rewritten zines home.\
