The event will explore t he question of a “queer canon”—a question Marlon Brandexaminesin hi s newly published book*Und jetzt queer!*(And Now Queer!).\\nIsn’t a “ canon\\,” by definition\\, a set of rules that upholds old norms? And i sn’t “queer” a term that seeks to break down these norms? So don’ t these two concepts contradict each other—or is the canon always more queer than it might seem at first glance?\\nMarlon Brand will guide the a udience on a search for clues among the shelves of the Munich City Librar y\\, reading excerpts from *Und jetzt queer!* as well as from several wor ks of a potential “queer canon.” The staged reading will be framed by a discussion on the relationship between the canon and censorship: after all\\, processes of canonization are inextricably linked to questions of power and authority and are highly contested politically.\\nThis content has been machine translated.\\nPrice information:\\nNo registration requ ired!
