SUMMARY:SAGA General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:SAGA meetings are the main focus of the organization\\, and a
 s such we highly encourage all SAGA members to attend. Due to the amount 
 of people that attend the meetings\\, we ask that you try to arrive befor
 e 6:30pm to allow us to begin the meeting on time. Meetings begin with an
 nouncements from the Board of Directors and then go immediately into intr
 oductions. This is followed by an open discussion on topics suggested by 
 members\\, relating to the Trans or Queer experience. Occasionally\\, an 
 invited speaker gives a presentation. Social time takes place during the 
 last hour so our members can get to know each other. Our meetings are inf
 ormal\\, and we encourage visitors to come as they feel comfortable.\\nWe
  employ a hybrid meeting style\\, incorporating both in-person and zoom a

 sk for consent. Have an active dialogue with people about their comfort l
 evel. Consent is an ongoing discussion: never assume! We are an “Only �
 ��Yes’ Means Yes” group. Victim-blaming is not tolerated.\\nUse Conte
 nt Warnings to the best of your ability. If you think that what you are a
 bout to share could be potentially distressing or induce dysphoria in som
 eone\\, be sure to tell the group what subject you’re about to talk abo
 ut so that members can choose how they want to participate\\, if at all.\
 \nRespect people’s boundaries and privacy. (This includes preferred nam
 es and pronouns! Not everyone is comfortable sharing everything about the
 ir transitions or lives\\, and it is important we understand that.)\\nCon
 tent\\nKeep it PG-13. As a community that revolves around sexual and gend
 er identity\\, our discussions will tend to be more frank surrounding the
  human body than the general population. That being said\\, this support 
 group is not intended for explicit content for it to remain a Safe Space.
 \\nThis is a body and sex positive group! Zero shaming tolerated.\\nUnles
 s it is specifically related to our community\\, keep political discussio
 n to a minimum.\\nConduct\\nKeep things confidential. Not everyone in thi
 s support group is out\\, and we want to respect when people are being vu
 lnerable. Do not share anything that other members say during the support
  portion of these meetings.\\nDo not interrupt or speak over members. Ple
 ase extend the same courtesy that you want in return when it comes to spe
 aking during the meetings. If there is repetitive violation of this polic
 y\\, you may be asked to leave.\\nAssume best intentions. Not everybody h
 as the lingo or nuance down yet\\, and that’s okay! Sometimes we make m
 istakes and tread on each other’s toes\\, but we can have that discours
