SUMMARY:Learn and play Earthborne Rangers\\, a co-op board game\\, ALL WE
 EK in Victoria Park
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to **play around & find out^** how much fun and
solidarity comes from playing together at a table in a beautiful park\\,
forming new social groups and stimulating the mind and imagination. Free
and volunteer-powered\\nIn Earthborne Rangers you explore a world with o
ptimistic “solarpunk” themes as you work as a team to succeed togethe
 r. ER is like Dungeons & Dragons but a nice change from grim dungeon-craw
ling and disaster-fighting\\, and has more structure\\, less improvisatio
 n. Learn more about ER [here](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/342900/
earthborne-rangers)\\nExperienced game teacher Matthew Ford gives you the
general idea in the first half. After a short break you can continue int
o more depth for the next half. You can keep coming to these events each
week for continued intermediate play\\nStep 1: RSVP to this event and **[
fill out the form at this link](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQL
 SeOLx4VVBRkGO6dep_5mxPgsV4_vbVYep3Ca1uW8RQDUSYtmg/viewform?usp=publish-ed
itor)** to state when you would prefer to play. If none are available\\,
come back in a few days– we do this every week\\nStep 2: **Wait until w
e send you a message** via Meetup and email stating which time slot we bo
oked you into\\nStep 3: At your time slot\\, use the "how to find us" sec
tion-- please read it carefully\\, don't just put destination into a map
app. Look for Matthew with a gray beard\\nFree event. Nothing to bring or
prepare. Come as you are\\, even if you know absolutely nothing about it
. **We welcome absolutely everyone and ensure a supportive and inclusive
atmosphere**. We've face-to-face taught games to over 1000 people of ever
y kind-- join us!\\nWe have shelter from rain\\, wind\\, and sun. Prepare
for your own needs but we never cancel an event due to weather\\nRead al
l this event info and comments carefully both ahead of time and **just be
fore you attend\\,** as our location and method may change slightly\\n**H
ow to find us at Ibis Island in Victoria Park:**\\n* In general\\, use a
map app to navigate to "Ibis Island" in Herston. Soon we will provide cus
tom maps and photo trails to help with that\\n* Do not park on Gilchrist
Road even if you app says you can-- stadium developers have blocked use b
y community cars\\n* From QUT Kelvin Grove campus: Transit and walk to\\,
or park near\\, Siam Spice. Use map app to go to Ibis Island\\, walking
the bike path. [This doc gives you step by step instructions](https://doc
 s.google.com/document/d/1sP9Y8uohOw7-1_p-1MYFCB1rZqzdIyH4j3o4OLu9C8k/edit
?usp=sharing)\\n* From Gregory Terrace in Spring Hill: Start at the bus s
top "Gregory Tce at St Josephs\\, stop 7". If in a car\\, you can park th
ere. The map app should be accurate as you walk to Ibis Island. If you ar
e blocked by a blue fence\\, keep the fence on your right hand and walk a
round it until you reach a bike path\\, and then the map app should be ac
curate. You will walk on the bike path over the motorway.\\n* From Hersto
n Busway Station: The map app should be accurate\\, but walking directly
onto the path from platform 1 is a shorter path than starting with taking
the stairs or lift up to Herston Road\\n^ Bonus info for all who care: A
s stadium developers destroy Victoria Park/Barrambin\\, they will find ou
t how much our community values this special place. Two promise-breaking
Olympic stadiums are being built in Victoria Park. Let's help them find o
ut why they had better leave this park as undisturbed as possible. We are
  not led by [www.savevictoriapark.com](http://www.savevictoriapark.com/)
but that is a good way to learn more. Hey stadium developers\\, here we a
