SUMMARY:SHOUT Movie Night: "Addams Family Values" Free Screening
DESCRIPTION:**Date & Time:** Thursday\\, November 12\\, 2026\\, at 6:30 P
M (Film starts at 7:00 PM)\\n**Location:** Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema
 (1821 2nd Ave N\\, Birmingham\\, AL)\\nLet’s get together for an absolu
te masterclass in camp cinema! The Magic City Queer Arts group is heading
down to the basement at Sidewalk Cinema for the monthly SHOUT movie nigh
t screening of *Addams Family Values* (1993).\\nPresented completely free
to the community by Birmingham AIDS Outreach (BAO) and Sidewalk\\, this
brilliant sequel has long been embraced as a queer cult classic. From Joa
 n Cusack's legendary\\, over-the-top performance as the black-widow seria
l killer Debbie Jellinsky to Wednesday Addams systematically dismantling
a toxic\\, heteronormative Thanksgiving play at Camp Chippewa\\, the film
is an endlessly quotable celebration of being an outsider. It is a perfe
ct text for our group to analyze\\, enjoy\\, and celebrate together.\\n**
Double Feature Note: The Mayawell Mixer Overlap**\\nPlease note that this
screening happens the very same evening as the LGBTQ+ Entrepreneur Netwo
rking Mixer over at Mayawell Bar (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM). If you are planni
ng to attend the mixer\\, don't worry about missing out! A group of us wi
ll be leaving the Mayawell rooftop a bit early around 6:15 PM to head str
aight downtown to the theater. It makes for a perfect\\, action-packed co
 mmunity double feature!\\n**Help Us Grow—Bring a Friend!**\\nWe are act
ively looking to expand our local creative circle and welcome new voices
to the table. Whether they are independent artists\\, film buffs\\, or si
mply folks looking for an inclusive community\\, please feel free to invi
 te a friend\\, partner\\, or colleague along! The more\\, the merrier.\\n
**What to expect:**\\n* **Pre-Show Social:** We will gather in the Sidewa
lk Lounge starting at 6:30 PM to catch up\\, grab drinks\\, and mingle be
fore the theater doors open.\\n* **Free Community Screening:** General ad
mission to the film is entirely free\\, courtesy of BAO.\\n* **Seating Lo
gistics:** Tickets are not required\\, but seating is strictly first-come
\\, first-served. We highly recommend arriving right at 6:30 PM so we can
grab a block of seats together before the theater fills up!\\n**Where to
find us:**\\nLook for the Magic City Queer Arts sign in the main basemen
t lounge/bar area at Sidewalk starting at 6:30 PM. Grab a cocktail or a s
oda and come join the circle!\\n**After-Movie Discussion:**\\nOnce the cr
edits roll\\, we’ll stick around in the lounge for a casual round of po
st-movie drinks to talk about our favorite lines and the brilliant produc
tion design.\\nCome celebrate the dark\\, the weird\\, and the campy with
an incredible community of local arts lovers. See you there!\\n***\\nhtt
