Kaohsiung Pride

Kaohsiung Pride is Taiwan's second major annual pride event, held in the southern port city that has been competing with Taipei for the title of Taiwan's most creative city. In a country that legalised same-sex marriage in 2019, both cities' pride events are genuinely celebratory — and Kaohsiung's event has a slightly more relaxed, local character than the enormous Taipei parade. The city's vibrant arts scene and famous night markets make it a fantastic destination.
