The first call i made, she didn’t give me her name, but i told her i specifically i wanted someone where i knew there was no connections to family ties or such. Since i know people are doing that. I tried to find local lawyers. However they told me to go to the state bar. And i get told it HAS to be the person from salem. I told them i have family in this so i want someone from different towns. However she refused & hung up. So i call again, and right away “you cant do that”. Yes i can. Anyways i will be contacting the higher ups above the state bar since they are ALSO refusing to help.
The people who answer the phones and make referrals to lawyers have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING and should not be working for the Oregon State Bar. Multiple wrong referrals to lawyers that had zero relevance to my case. I would have had better luck just doing the footwork on google myself, and judging by the rest of these reviews, it sounds like this is a consisent problem. Also, when I called back the second time to explain I'd been referred to an incorrect lawyer for my case, the girl hung up on me. I called back a third time, and the man who answered was incredibly rude. I've dealt with State Bar Referral services in other states - NEVER have I experienced such a lack of professionalism in my life. Whoever is hiring these people should be fired - this is an absolute joke and disgrace.
Just called them. And tried to set me up to someone. I asked where they are located due to possible problems that could arise since no one wants to help locally so they sent me to the Oregon state bar instead. And they ended up hanging the phone on me to make sure I am with the right person. I wish I got their name before they got mine.
I went to the Bar office today to get assistance with CLE requirements and access. What a Ghost town. Building is virtually empty. Isn't it time to come back to the office and provide the services to the people and attorneys you are suppose to be serving? Poor customer service and poor management -- time for some serious self-evaluation.
I was referred to an attorney who shortly after was featured in an article in the Oregonian stating that he was a danger to the public. This attorney advised me to not attend or call into a very important court date stating that he would utilize my absence as extra leverage to ask for a continuance, he then did not appear or call in resulting in a default judgement that has caused irreparable harm to my case. Do not trust that you will be connected with an attorney "in good standing" as stated by the Bar Association's description of their referral service.
