Lima Pride has been held each June since 2002, bringing together Peru's LGBTQ+ community in a country where the legal framework for equality remains limited. The march through central Lima is an important act of visibility in a city where queer life has long been underground. It draws a passionate, determined crowd and has gradually grown in size and in the breadth of its political demands.
