Le Hertz is a more polished and intimate alternative to the student energy of Le Plana, located in a narrow medieval street in the Saint-Pierre quarter. The bar's cocktail list is seriously considered — a rotating seasonal menu that changes every three months — and the interior design is notably better than the average gay bar. Thursday through Saturday, a DJ plays from around 21h, generating a quieter dance atmosphere. The clientele tends toward professionals and visitors in their 30s and 40s. It is the bar Bordeaux residents take people to when they want to impress.
