Blockorama is the Black LGBTQ+ stage at Toronto Pride — a celebration of Black queer and trans culture that began in 1999 as a community protest against the underrepresentation of Black voices at the main Pride events and has grown into one of Pride's most beloved and celebrated programming strands. Blockorama takes place during Pride weekend at Cawthra Park, featuring Black LGBTQ+ DJs, performers, and artists in an outdoor festival format that draws tens of thousands of attendees. The event is produced by Blackness Yes!, a Black-led LGBTQ+ organization, and is one of the most important expressions of the diversity and breadth of Toronto's queer community.
