They have EVERYTHING! A really cool place to find obscure videos and old videos. Seriously, they even have old media recordings that no one will remember. Parking can be at a premium. Depending on the time of the day.
An amazing indie shop nestled in the U District for both rentals (including their mail program) and sales. Came from way out of town and as a home movie enjoyer I had to check it out. Friendly store clerks too. Long live physical media and thanks!
Scarecrow Video is and always has been the very best video rental store in the northwest. It has a huge selection that includes many esoteric titles that are hard to find. I was looking for a copy of a favorite old Belgian film (1996) that took the award for best actor at Cannes that year (shared between the two main actors), Le Hutieme Jour (The Eight Day) and found it at Scarecrow.
I am so happy to finally find my way to this store. I miss walking through a mom and pop rental store, looking at all the covers. The genres are simply amazing and the staff is the friendliest you'll meet. Added bonus, you can mail the movies back, which is super convenient. Streaming has nothing on Scarecrow.
This place is the best! They have pretty much every video you could ever imagine for rent - and I love all the niche curated sections. A must see for any cinephile
