Gem of a find for Victoria. Nice friendly staff and Patrons. Offering suggestions for food locally and advice. Will pop back in when I’m back in Gozo.
The real English pub in Gozo! They have droughts of few local beers, we tried 2 ones: Bombardier and Hobgoblin. Both were wonderful! The owner and his wife are super friendly and nice! Highly recommended to visit!!
On the way up to the castle take time to have a drink, or on the way down which was what we did. The owner, Jeff was a wonderful host as he took he and his bartender served us some coffee, both hot and iced. On Sundays he told us they have a jam session.
Fantastic pub, if you want a drink in a friendly atmosphere and guys doing a jam session this is the place for you. Please ignore the one star reviews, they all want to use the toilet on there way up to the tourist attraction. It's a business guys, not a public convenience. Go there enjoy a reasonable priced drink and maybe some guys doing a jam session.
Silvio was a lovely bartender and host. The bar itself is a brilliant atmosphere, he let me jam on the guitar (I am a skilled player mind) and he was a joy to talk to. They do guitar jam sessions at 2pm on Saturdays and hope when I return I can join! The kitchen wasn’t open at the time so I am unable to comment on food, but the drinks were fab and I had such a fun time after visiting citadel in the hot hot sun (there is air conditioning in this bar haha!). Castle Bar is just a 1 minute walk straight down from the citadel, on the left. Go visit!!
