Monstercade

First time here and I absolutely love this place. I love the engery and vibe in there! It's a cool place to hang out! Ian welcomed us in. He was very friendly and helpful! I had a beer and my friend had a mocktail. Looking forward to coming back again! Very easy to get to.

Monstercade is a small live performance and event venue that favors alternative bands and singers. They also host karaoke nights, standup comedy, cook-offs, drag shows, goth nights, and more. Monstercade is also just a regular bar, so anyone can go at any time and enjoy a nice drink. There is a small parking lot and patio out front featuring a few picnic tables, benches, and a lovely firepit. Monstercade is one of those venues that just does it right. Its grimy and dimly-lit, with neon skulls and washes of purple UV light. 80's cult horror vibes. The floor is perpetually sticky (in a comforting way) and the company may be rowdy at times, but you'll feel cool just for being there. What more can you ask for? The tunes and welcoming atmosphere rival Chemistry and any other queer bar or alternative space around; plus, the pours are heavy. The outside of the establishment is a bit unassuming despite the colored string lights hanging above the benches, but when you cross that threshold you enter an entirely different world. I have been to this venue many times. In terms of sound quality- not that greatest. (With love!) Usually too loud for the room size. This is definitely an area I wish would improve. I would be here way more often if it was quieter for events. It can be dizzying at times- three or four drinks in, the bass is pounding so hard you can feel the reverberation in your skull- the clamminess and sweatiness of your skin forces your clothes to cling to you, the smell of body odor from the other punks so strong you choke a bit, and just when you think you want to leave, a conversation struck up from a comliment gifted against the cool brick wall between cigarette-tipped fingers lulls you into staying so slyly that you don't even realize you've floated back inside. Tuck yourself into the comfortable corner booth or dance til the clock strikes 2. Rinse and repeat over and over, and you've got yourself a night to remember. It makes for a pleasant experience at the end of the night when the liquor eventually slips a warm and comforting film over the senses. 10000000000/10 recommend, at least once. 🩷🖤 Ps chat up ur bartender and da bouncer🌸 love them so so so much

A safe, welcoming place for everyone with a sweet drink menu and perfectly goth atmosphere. I felt right at home.

I love this bar! Im not a constant regular but always feel welcome. An alternative bar with this old school, 80s, cult classic, funny horror vibe that's just fun and kinda wacky. Drinks are well priced and there's an event every weekend and most week nights.

Went for a "talent show", it was more like a small group of friends that were given too much money to turn their parents basement into a play house.
