ReBit (認定NPO法人ReBit)

ReBit (認定NPO法人ReBit) is a certified nonprofit organisation based in Yoyogi, Shibuya ward, and one of Japan's most active LGBTQ+ groups. Founded to support LGBTQ+ youth, it runs education and diversity-training programmes for schools and companies, career and job-search support for LGBTQ+ people, and community events including an LGBTQ+ coming-of-age ceremony. As a Shibuya-based organisation, ReBit reflects the ward's pioneering role in LGBTQ+ inclusion in Japan — in 2015 Shibuya became the first municipality in the country to issue same-sex partnership certificates. The group works nationally but is rooted in the Yoyogi/Shibuya area.
