Citadines Central Shinjuku Tokyo

Good value. Getting there was hard and it gets scary at night with some touts in front of the hotel getting to you.

Location, location, location. Right in the middle of bustling Shinjuku with the Golden Gai pub strip directly behind the hotel. Actually, it is smack bang in the red light district but that made it all the more exciting and interesting. Within close walking distance, we accessed train terminals, the Love Statue (for two tours), the Cat Board, Godzilla and countless restaurants and bars. There was a Lawsons convenience store on the ground floor and a Seven-11 10m down the road. We chose the Citadines because the room sizes looked more than adequate. Our room was excellent and big for Tokyo standards. Two king single beds, excellent pillows and a bath tub with separate shower too. Of course the toilet had all the bells and whistles of a Japanese toilet too. A big plus were the free amenities, the delicious coffee bags and tea varieties available and a totally awesome and free coffee machine in the foyer. Harry, at the front desk, spoke perfect English and helped us check in and out without a glitch. My only little gripe is that the breakfast at ¥19500 is really quite ordinary with limited selection. Two rounds of excellent sandwiches at Lawson’s is less than ¥500. However, despite this one insignificant issue, I would recommend the Citadines Central Shinjuku for anyone who like excellent hotel facilities and locations and also really wants to see Tokyo and the nightlife. Two thumbs up guys!!

Be aware that the air conditioners in MANY of the rooms do Not work and they will not repair them. You can’t sleep because you have to have the windows open and SUPER LOUD til at least 3AM . Gross views. Nasty carpets.

Our booking included breakfast, but the hotel failed to provide it. We had to start our sightseeing tour hungry because they wouldn’t arrange a packed meal. Very poor service for something that was already paid for.

Breakfast was part of our paid package but was not provided by the hotel. This forced us to leave for our tour on an empty stomach, which was disappointing and unacceptable. Basic services like this should not be missed.

We paid for breakfast they didn't give us the breakfast as we requested to pack it. Our tour was started early and they refused to give us packed breakfast. Now everything is disrupted, we're hungry on the tour. Staff is also not helpful and welcoming.

Good value. Quiet hotel in a rather quiet neighborhood :D

Great spot for accommodation in shinjuku. Friendly staff, easy to find and clean rooms. Laundry and business space too.

Actually a really great hotel, 5 minute walk from the train station, free drinking water on every floor, free coffee downstairs, and rooms larger than the average tiny Tokyo hotel room!
