Escarpment Domes

Amazing view of Kapiti and the southern Island and nice for staying a night like I did. Good walk plus a nice place for star gazing

I had the pleasure to stay at the Nook Dome and was I in for a surprise… When booking I was initially hesitant on staying somewhere that was off the grid and had compostable toilets but, upon arriving I was totally blown away at how amazing it was! It felt extremely cozy, modern, and, dare I say, luxurious Taking a warm outdoor bath at sunset with a beautiful view of the ocean was the cherry on top Another nice subtle touch to note was the delicious morning coffee If you’re looking for somewhere to stay look no further than the Escarpment Domes, I can’t recommend them enough and would gladly stay again

An interesting, warm stay, with plenty of peculiarities. The odd coffee setup ended up being pretty cool. The toilet situation was, unfortunately, quite in-your-face as it has a composting toilet which leaves nothing to the imagination. That was the biggest negative point in my view. The rest of the place was standard, good music system, cool ideas with the location and domes.

An experience you have to do. From the drive to the domes , to the domes and the location , it was overwhelmingly fantastic. I loved the whole experience - and had a bath in the outdoor bath. We had a glorious day and night. The views are enormous day and night. The dome was warm and the beds were lovely. Cooking and bathroom all fun. Sound system and lights. Walks around and up on the hill. We had the best time. The staff were fabulous. I thoroughly recommend.

An unforgettable stay! What an amazing experience! The view from the bed when you wake up is absolutely breathtaking. The trip up the mountain is an adventure on its own, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It was very windy during our stay, so we spent most of the time inside enjoying the board games and cards provided. The BBQ was left a bit untidy by previous guests, but overall, it was a truly beautiful and memorable getaway!

Absolutely loved every moment to rejuvenate and spend time with my 2 adult children. What a beautiful place to relax and appreciate the amazing view and luxurious outside bath.

What a great step outside of the city hustle and bustle. We choose to walk in while our gear was taken up by the lovely hoste in the mighty 4x4 van. Was a great way to start the unwind with a walk while checking out the new born lambs and getting a short bush walk. The domes were clean and well positioned for a fantastic view out over kapiti island and had all the modern amenities with beautiful aesthetics Access to the escarpment track is just below the property if you want more time out and about. Will be going again for sure to unwind. 5/5

We stayed at Escarpment Dome to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was such a romantic getaway. The dome offered stunning views and was well-equipped with a small kitchen, shower and compost toilet. The bath was a highlight—so relaxing with incredible scenery to look out on. We also enjoyed a short walk to see the sculpture nearby. The whole experience felt very private and special, and we truly had a wonderful time. We’d love to come back again in the future. Thank you for creating this amazing haven!

Our first visit was very memorable. Haylee and I found the hosts very warm and hospitable. The experience overall was superb Thank you to Blair, Hugh and others Our only constructive feedback would be perhaps stock the domes with a bit of sugar/honey/sweetener for the coffees (which were quite interesting nonetheless)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Gallery Dome, had everything we needed for a comfortable & relaxing stay. Beautiful views, very peaceful place. Awesome sound system & yummy coffee. Only improvements would be a slightly larger fridge & a mini oven would be useful & more tea towels for the dishes. Thank you we'll be back.

Amazing views and so awesome to be able to hike straight to our accommodation and then walk down to the train station when leaving. A very memorable weekend getaway!
