Toyoko Inn Daegu Dongseongno

Japanese-style hotel. Great location in the heart of Daegu, close to the metro, authentic Korean breakfast. Excellent value for money! Only minor drawback: the mattresses are rather firm. Would definitely stay again!

I've stayed here twice before, and it's always been incredibly clean and comfortable. This time, I booked at the last minute, and there was only one room left, so I almost missed out! The rate is cheaper than some decent hotels in Daegu, and the quality is excellent. There were even more foreign travelers than Japanese people. All the front desk staff I've encountered have spoken fluent Japanese and were very kind. It's also very close to Banwoldang Station, making it conveniently located. The room layout is exactly like a Toyoko Inn in Japan, which might lessen the feeling of being abroad, but the complimentary water, slippers and bathrobes, bathtub, and overall cleanliness and comfort make me choose Toyoko Inn no matter which city I'm in Korea.

A reliably Japanese-style hotel. The construction is just like in Japan, making it comforting even overseas. Check-in from 3 PM, check-out at 10 AM. Toothbrushes and razors are not provided. Coffee sticks and tea bags were available. The front desk is on the 7th floor. Staff speak Japanese. A mini-refrigerator (one bottle of mineral water), air conditioning, and hairdryer are provided. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. A simple free breakfast is available until 9:30 AM. I walked 5-6 minutes from Exit 13 of Jungangno Station on Line 1 from Dongdaegu Station. It's also a short walk from Banwoldang Station on Lines 1 and 2. There's a 7-Eleven on the first floor and Hyundai Department Store nearby. The airport bus stop is also close, making it a convenient location. NHK World (channel 277) is available, and as long as you don't go outside, it feels like you're in Japan, which is very relaxing. They hold your luggage during check-in/check-out. Unfortunately, the minimum accommodation charge is 75,000 won on weekdays, which is more expensive than in Japan.

Excellent hotel, good service and close to a metro station

The price was cheap and the location was good, but the soundproofing was absolutely terrible!!! You could hear the alarm clock in the next room, the elevator running, and people talking in the hallway—it was incredibly noisy! The fire alarm kept going off for no reason on my first day. I felt like I might not really need to stay here…

We encountered significant difficulties locating the Toyoko Inn Daegu. Because the building signage is exclusively in Korean, it was nearly impossible to identify from the street, and the fact that the hotel is hidden on the 7th floor of a multi-business complex only added to the frustration. ​While the room and bathroom were cramped they are clean, the overall comfort was not the best. The mattress was hard, and the pillows were dense and awkward to use. Furthermore, the level of service was disappointing; the staff had very limited English proficiency, and the individual who could communicate with us was both unfriendly and unhelpful, making it clear that the property is not well-equipped to serve international guests.

Toyoko Inn provides consistent service. As expected of a Japanese chain hotel, the rooms are small but clean. It is also nice that, despite their small size, there is a bathtub where you can enjoy a half-bath.

The environment is clean, tidy, and well-lit. Most importantly, it even has a bathtub – perfect for a relaxing soak after shopping! Although not large, the space is ample and comfortable. I'll definitely come again! 🥰 The area downstairs is very convenient, especially since it's in a bustling area.
