Hamp Court Palace Taipei

This was my second stay, and it wasn't as good as my last visit in 2024. The service quality at the front desk was inconsistent; some were excellent, but one man and one woman were less than helpful—even the robot delivering items was better than them. Both times, there were banging noises in the room, happening in the middle of the night and early morning. After a long day of sightseeing, I couldn't get a proper rest. The fact that the balcony door can't be fully opened like last time is also a major flaw! It can only be opened a crack—what's the point of having a balcony then? The shower room also had persistent mold, making it feel very dirty. Next time, I'll probably choose a different hotel.

The staff were friendly and provided excellent, attentive service. The rooms were spacious, and there was a gym and a children's playroom. It's suitable for both business and family travel. The location is also very convenient; there's easy access to the MRT, bicycle rentals, and taxis, with plenty of parking available in front.

Last month, my first overnight stay was a great experience. The overall environment was comfortable and the service was excellent, making it a worthwhile place to stay again when visiting Taipei. I'd give it a perfect score! Later, during my nine-day, eight-night stay, the hallways often smelled of smoke. Perhaps due to insufficient information dissemination to guests, this issue was difficult to resolve, which was a pity. Overall, it was just okay. This third stay was different. On the first two nights, there were loud, pounding footsteps coming from the ceiling, causing very poor sleep. I informed the front desk staff during the day, and they quickly helped me move to a higher floor room. Finally, on the third night, I had a quiet sleeping environment. This time, I'd give the front desk staff a fantastic score!

This is truly the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. I have never encountered anything like this, even when staying at hotels in other countries. Since my trip was two weeks long, I spent half of it at a nearby 5-star hotel. I booked this place for the rest of my stay because it was advertised as a 4-star hotel, but it was truly the worst mistake of my life. I paid about 50,000 won for a two-hour early check-in, but as soon as I went up to the floor where my room was located, the air was filled with a disgusting smell—it was as if someone had stuffed their face with durian. As soon as I entered the room, the sound of the air conditioner running was constant; judging by the fact that it wouldn't turn off and continued to be heard, it seems the entire room was affected. In the early morning, a cigarette smell started coming from the bathroom and spread throughout the entire room, making it impossible to sleep. I went downstairs to complain about the strong cigarette smell, but they offered to switch me to a different room without even an apology. When I asked them to check the room, they said they would provide an air purifier for now. We insisted that we absolutely could not sleep in this room, and the hotel staff told us they would switch us to another room and we should sleep there. At this point, I asked about a refund, but they told me to look into it through the booking platform, so I waited until morning. After a very difficult night, as soon as morning came, the construction noise was so loud that I absolutely could not stay in the room. I went downstairs to request a refund for the remaining stay, but the front desk said they could only change rooms and that the reservation system issue could only be resolved through the hotel's reservation team and the booking platform. The hotel did not resolve the issue immediately, and although I tried to contact the hotel reservation team through the booking platform several times, they kept not answering. The booking platform staff wanted to speak with the front desk staff, but the front desk only said that it was impossible to resolve, so I had to stay in the lobby for over two hours without getting any sleep. It feels like such a waste of money to have paid for just one night, and calling this a 4-star hotel is absolutely ridiculous. The worst response. The worst price and service. If you are going to stay here at this price, you should either go somewhere cheaper or pay more and stay comfortably at a 5-star hotel!!! There is a different smell on every floor, and you will experience strange odors that you have never encountered before!!! The coin laundry filters are also incredibly dirty; it is worse than some provincial business motel!!! The view is also too close to the building in front!!! The last photo is of me eating at the hotel restaurant right after returning to the hotel I stayed at just before and rebooking... I really never want to experience this again!!!

Four people stayed in the room. The room was large, the bathroom had a bathtub, the room was clean overall, and the bedding was comfortable. There are 7-Eleven, Baoya convenience store, and restaurants nearby. It's a 6-minute walk from Songjiang Nanjing Metro Station, and there's parking available. The price was reasonable, and the TV picture quality and connection to video streaming platforms were smooth. I will definitely come back next time! 👍

The room was very spacious and the air was fresh. The hotel staff came to deal with any problems immediately. It was a great stay!
