CSD Braunschweig

CSD Braunschweig grew out of the Sommerlochfestival, first held on 10 August 1996, and has used the CSD name since 2000. VSE e.V., the association that also runs the queer centre Onkel Emma, organises it as a two-week programme of talks, culture and parties that ends with a demonstration and a street festival on the Schlossplatz.

In 2026 the festival ran from 24 July to 8 August; the demonstration on 8 August set off at 13:00 from the Kleines Haus (Herzogin-Anna-Amalia-Platz) and ended at the Schlossplatz. The organisers counted more than 6,000 participants, their highest figure so far. The closing Pride Night party is at Schön & Frölich. The 2027 edition is announced for 13–14 August 2027; the full programme is published on csd-braunschweig.de.
