Fun Latino themed evening

Amazing atmosphere, great service, fair prices, and DJ Nico Terra was fantastic! The music was amazing, it was a really fun event. I'll definitely be there again at his next event!

A really good urban bar with Italian food. Very nice and trendy.

We'd like to give a 5-star rating, even though we didn't visit the bar as guests that evening, but simply had a small, unusual request. The Theater Bar has an excellent reputation, and everything we've heard about the fantastic atmosphere, great drinks, and excellent service inside has us eagerly anticipating a "real" visit. The reason for our interaction that evening was different: We had just returned from vacation, and my partner had a drink that only needed a single ice cube. Assuming that a renowned bar like this might be able to help out, we politely asked the doorman. Unfortunately, the response was anything but courteous. The man at the door, an African American, turned us away in an extremely unfriendly and disrespectful manner. The deciding factor seemed to be my Adidas slides, which I was still wearing from the trip. He was completely unwilling to pass on our simple request to the bar staff. This outright rejection of such a small favor was completely incomprehensible to us and left a very negative first impression of this otherwise highly praised establishment. It seemed as if his high school diploma was more important to him than basic manners. Nevertheless, we are giving 5 stars because we are firmly convinced that this incident at the door in no way reflects the quality and service for which the Theater Bar is known. Our judgment is based on its reputation and our anticipation. We sincerely hope that management trains its doormen to treat every potential guest—even someone with just a quick question—with a minimum of respect and helpfulness. We look forward to actually coming as guests soon and hope for a truly perfect evening.
