Avoid this restaurant for dinner. The burger was terrible.

Dear Reichshof Team, last Sunday evening around 9 pm we visited you again to enjoy a few drinks and round off a lovely evening in Hamburg. Unfortunately, our visit was less pleasant than usual. There were two staff members in the café, but they seemed overwhelmed by the number of customers, especially since the outdoor seating area was also open due to the good weather. This was evident from the fact that many outdoor guests came to the bar to pay their bills, as there were hardly any staff members to be seen outside. As a result, we didn't receive our drink menus inside for 10 to 15 minutes, and even then, only after we asked for them. It then took another 15 minutes before the waitress took our order. After that, nothing happened for another 15 minutes, so we finally had to leave after 45 minutes without any service whatsoever, at which point we spoke to the two staff members. We understood the temporary staffing shortage, but not the repeated prioritization of guests who arrived after us! This was done according to the principle of urgency (whoever goes to the bar and orders forcefully is served first). We pointed this out, which the female server unfortunately denied completely, while the male server admitted it and apologized. Fortunately, we found another restaurant nearby where we received good service, and we're sure that different staff members will work at the Reichshof at some point, so we'd still like to come back, perhaps with better luck next time.

Unfortunately, the service at Emil's Bar Bistro Café has deteriorated significantly. The once attentive service staff is nowhere to be found. Guests wait 45-60 minutes before they are even acknowledged. A waiter, laughing excessively, seems more interested in the international clientele at the bar, who shower him with compliments, and he gets so carried away with his flattery that he loses track of newly seated guests. Another insecure server is unable to compensate for this deficiency and wanders aimlessly and helplessly through a sea of ​​waiting guests, forgetting her duty to represent Hamburg's service-oriented side. It's a shame – the service in the foyer of this wonderful hotel was once exceptional, as were the lobby furnishings. I'm sorry – it's lost. Emil's is no longer a shining example! The competition hasn't been idle in the meantime!

A truly wonderful hotel with a special ambiance and an impressive building. The service was very friendly, attentive, and professional. The breakfast was also excellent – ​​a wide selection, very high quality, and a pleasant start to the day. I felt completely at ease and would love to return. A definite recommendation for a stay in Hamburg.

Great location! Renovated rooms with comfortable beds! Very nice bar! Lovely restaurant with an old ship's bridge gallery. The breakfast, however, could be improved.

This is our fourth stay here. The lobby is very elegant and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient. Excellent location, very close to the train station.

An excellent hotel in a prime location. The check-in process was seamless, although most of the male staff seemed *somewhat* reserved. The extra-large room with a sofa bed was perfect for us and even had a small refrigerator, which was especially welcome in the high temperatures. There was even complimentary bottled water (3 bottles) in the room, something many larger hotels unfortunately now charge for. Apart from a few slightly dusty surfaces, the room was spotlessly clean, including the bathroom. The pillows and mattresses had the perfect firmness. The rain shower was fantastic, although the temperature was sometimes a little tricky to adjust, but that's probably due to the age of the historic building. The shower gel and hand lotion were of very high quality. The air conditioning also worked flawlessly and was barely audible at night. Although our room faced the main train station and the street, we didn't hear a thing from the outside. The breakfast buffet was outstanding; there was something for everyone. Vegans were also catered for, with cold cuts, spreads, and even scrambled tofu available upon request; truly excellent. The breakfast room was already very busy at 8 a.m. on a Friday, and the beautiful historic breakfast room fills up quickly, so you might have to use the adjoining room. On the day of our departure, we left our suitcases at the hotel until the afternoon so we could stroll through the city without any worries. However, you should allow a little extra time for luggage collection, as the reception is usually very busy, and the concierge (in our case) got caught up in a lengthy travel consultation, which is why the whole process took a bit longer than we had hoped. Overall, we were very satisfied and booked our next stay on the very day of our departure. Thank you, and see you next time!
